27 febr 2026 Siebrano Pique kondigt eenmansprotest aan ter bescherming van democratie
De Surinaamse activist Siebrano Pique heeft aangekondigd op 19 maart zijn eerste protestactie te zullen houden in Suriname. De exacte locatie en het tijdstip worden maandag bekendgemaakt. Volgens Pique gaat het om een éénmansprotest. Hij benadrukt dat hij, ongeacht welke regering aan de macht is, zijn stem zal laten horen wanneer hij dat nodig acht.

The Opening Ceremony, scheduled for 24 February at The Marriott Dome, Frigate Bay, will feature addresses by the Chair and other leaders, including the Outgoing Chair, Prime Minister Holness of Jamaica, and recently appointed heads of government from the Region. Secretary-General, Dr Carla Barnett, will deliver the Ceremony’s opening remarks. From 25 to 27 February, leaders and heads of delegations will gather at the St Kitts Marriott to consider pressing global and hemispheric issues and their impact on regional priorities.
